Career Fair

Recruiting at the Prestigious Wharton School

Participants at the 2009 WABF will have the opportunity to explore career opportunities with our prestigious sponsors and other participating recruiters. The 2009 Career Fair will be comprised of a number of large companies and developmental institutions that are focused on Africa. Some of these companies are Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, AT&T, ACTIS, International Finance Corporation, Development Partners International, Global Career Company, Silverbird, Brookleigh and ESAfrica.

The career fair is open to all registered WABF participants at no additional cost. However, 1st-year MBA students, from all business schools, are ineligible for participation in the career fair in accordance with the policies of most schools.

Candidates are entitled to submit one resume for consideration by participating employers. Employers can then schedule one-on-one interview sessions with selected candidates on a rolling basis. Candidates are therefore encouraged to submit their as early as possible. All interview sessions must be scheduled for Saturday November 7th, 2009 and take place at Wharton’s Philadelphia Campus. 

This year employers will also set-up booths that will facilitate additional networking opportunities for all WABF participants.

CONFERENCE PARTICIPANT PROCEDURES

1. Candidates submit resume to careerfair@whartonafricaforum.com after registering for the conference.

2. Post your resume EARLY!! Serious employers are unlikely to interview participants who enter their resume into the database very close to the deadline.

3. Employers / sponsors will contact selected candidates directly for interviews, which will take place during the conference. 



EMPLOYER PROCEDURES

1. Employers who have expressed interest in participating in the career fair will be given access to the online resume database. A separate e-mail outlining instructions on how to access the system will be sent to employers / sponsors who have expressed interest.

2.  Interview rooms will be available.
