Mallam Nasir El-Rufai
Former Minister/Governor
Federal Capital City of Nigeria
Nasir El-Rufai was the former minister/governor of the Federal Capital City of Nigeria, Abuja. Described
as a change agent, crusader against corruption, and astute public servant by his peers, Nasir presided over a real estate boom backed by a radical transformation of infrastructure and public enterprises. He was a member of the Presidential Economic team that successfully negotiated Nigeria's exit from the London and Paris Club debts of over $32 billion.

Prior to his appointment as minister, Nasir headed the Bureau of Public Enterprises. During his term in office, he implemented policies that led to the privatization and deregulation of various public sectors (Telecom, Oil & Gas, Banking, Insurance, Aviation & Electricity). At various times, he was designated by the former President of Nigeria to oversee Public Service Reform at the Federal Ministries of Commerce, the National Census, the National ID Card System, and the Nigerian Electric Power Supply Improvement Programs.
Early in his career, Nasir was appointed Senior Policy Advisor and a Member of the Program Implementation and Monitoring Committee (PIMCO). In this role, he advised the President on economic and political matters and also supervised the transition program leading to democratic elections and civilian government. He also led negotiations with the International Monetary Fund to re-engage with Nigeria by way of a Staff-Monitored Program.
He is currently the CEO of El-Rufai & Partners, a Real Estate consulting firm where he provides consulting expertise on infrastructure projects across Nigeria.
Nasir received a Bachelors of Law degree from the University of London and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science/MBA from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. He has attended post graduate programs at Harvard University and Georgetown University. He is married with children.

Bernard A. Mensah is head of the European Bank Loan and Private Finance Group based in London and Global Head of Bank Loan Trading.
Previously, Bernard was head of the Asian Credit and Convertibles Businesses in Tokyo. He was named Managing Director in 2001 and Partner in 2006.

Prior to joining the firm in 2000, Bernard worked for Credit Suisse Financial Products as a Senior Credit Trader in London and later in Asia as Head of Structured Credit Products.
Bernard received his Bachelors in Social Sciences at the Joint School of Philosophy and Economics of the University of Bristol in 1989. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant England and Wales in 1992.

Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu

Mutiu Sunmonu, Managing Director of the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), and Vice President Production (Africa) was born in Ibadan, Oyo State 27. May 1955. He joined SPDC in 1978 as a Computer Programmer/Business Analyst, following his graduation from the University of Lagos with a first class degree in Mathematics .

Between 1983 and 1990, he held positions in the IT department, and proceeded to the Shell UK Expro Aberdeen in 1990, where he worked as Information Planner/Portfolio Consultant. On his return to Nigeria in September 1993, he was appointed Head IT Infrastructure Services, and became IT Manager of SPDC in October 1995.
1997 was to mark a turning point in Mutiu's SPDC career, as he moved from the IT function to the production department as Area Production Manager, overseeing some 10 producing fields, and was two years later appointed Asset Manager, Southern Swamp Area, with responsibility for 12 producing fields.
Mutiu's next assignment was as Regional Business Adviser in Shell International, den Haag with responsibility for China and Thailand. A key task was the development of an investment proposal for the China West to East integrated pipeline and gas supply project.
Mutiu was appointed General Manager Production for the SPDC Eastern operations in 2003. Two years later, he joined the Board of SPDC following his appointment as Executive Director Corporate Affairs.
Prior to his appointment in January 2008 as Managing Director of SPDC and Regional Vice President Production, Mutiu had since February 2006, been SPDC's Executive Director Production, with overall accountability for the company's oil and gas production.
An acknowledged change manager, Mutiu is known to always search for better and new ways of doing things and an uncanny ability to manage processes, people and operational activities to create value for the organisation, as well as reputation for managing relations with external stakeholders.
He is married to Olufunke, and they have four children. His hobbies include reading, squash and golf.

Yibrah joined GE Power Systems in March 1980 and started his career as Projects' Logistics Manager for Power Systems. In 1983 he became Power Systems Country Finance Manager based in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
In 1987 he was transferred to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as Credit & Collection Manager for Middle East, Africa, South Asian (MEASA-USSR) and Ex Soviet Union (USSR) Operation.
In 1989 Yibrah moved to Baghdad, Iraq, as National Executive & Power Systems Regional Manager covering Eastern Mediterranean countries.
In 1993 Yibrah became Power Systems Regional Projects' Finance Manager covering Middle East and Nigeria and continued on this position until he was appointed as Corporate Regional Executive for Africa Region in May 2003.
Yibrah, a native of Eritrea, has a degree in Business Administration & Economics and is married with children.
